Class Curriculum for 2017

2016-07-22-12-22-06

I am looking to expand my class schedule this year with the possibility of new locations, 1/2 day, full day and weekend events.  If you are at all interested in pursuing the basic or advanced education, consider initiating a class. Locations can be churches, hospitals, community centers, businesses or wherever we can gather with some relative privacy for the duration of the class. Study materials are provided for at the various levels of instruction.  My range of travel is within the Orlando metropolitan area, but I am open for other venues if it can work for all.  Contact me with any questions at info@mindandbodymartialarts.com

A condensed sample copy of the curriculum study guide is available here (14.4mg)

Exercise Sets – the 36 Noble Stances

So far this month, the local Wekiva class has been working on exercises from the following sets:

The 36 Noble Stances
Noble stances are a combination of various stances from different styles of Chinese martial arts. Stances, in this case, meaning correct placement of the feet, knees, hips, and arm positions relative to ones center of gravity. Executing static positions and holding the particular body positions for anyway from a few seconds to several minutes reaps many benefits foremost being able to cultivate a strong and healthy core.
8 Pieces of Brocade
These exercises and methods have been practiced and studied for hundreds of years to help maintain good health, prevent and sometimes cure diseases, to calm the mind, and uplift the spirit of the person performing them. Ancient literature shows and explains body postures and exercise routines similar to the Eight Pieces of Brocade, but dating back roughly 2,100 years.
Meridian Exercises
There are twelve main medians and 8 other special meridians within the human body. Meridians are similar to electrical wires or nerves. They run from the top of the head to the tips of the toes and fingers. Each meridian is associated with an internal organ. When there is a lack of energy flow or blockage within the meridians, health problems can arise. Through proper diet, exercises and life style, it is possible to keep the chi (energy or life force) flowing through the meridians. These exercises help to increase this flow in addition to enhancing strength, flexibility, range of motion and balance.

3D colored charts available for chi kung, Bagua, yoga and various other alternative methods of achieving fitness

I offer unique exercise charts depicting martial arts, Chi Kung, Yoga and various other alternative methods of fitness and well being.  Martial arts such as BaguaZhang, Pakua, Hsing Yi, Tai Chi and others, offer many benefits well beyond self defense alone.  Many of these methods improve core strength (ship pal gi, noble stances, san ti shi), relieve stress and cultivate your life force or “chi”.  Other benefits that can be enhanced are flexibility, coordination, balance, awareness and a peaceful mind.  Most of these exercises can be practiced almost anywhere and by anyone regardless of physical limitations. Most charts will become available as 8.5″ x 11″ laminated hard copies or bundled into hard copy booklets, sent out via US Mail or UPS.
