Energetic Anatomy

Often times people exercise their bodies with little or no engagement of their thought process. While this might be physically rewarding for some people, others desire to be more mentally, physically and spiritually engaged while training. Tai Chi, Qigong & Yoga offer all of these facets on many levels, depending upon the goals and interest of the individual.

Moving Qigong Set #1 (Tae Guk Chung)

Moving Qigong Set #1 (Tae Guk Chung)

Forms or exercise sets, are a way to link many various movements into an organized flow or progression from one exercise to the next. This concept is similar to the current trend of “yoga flow” but actually has been practiced for hundreds, if not thousands of years.
Gentle stretching in all 3 anatomical planes (transverse, sagittal and coronal) is a way to directly exercise the organs by making them move and slide against each other breaking down adhesions. Moving the spinal column in “all directions, every day” is a why to maintain flexibility and strength of the spine and its many components.
Circulation is also increased as the gentle squishing of the core provides a “tourniquet effect” of the blood flow being somewhat restricted and then released to flush through the veins and arteries.

Watch the video to see one set of exercises for stretching the spine, relieving stress, increasing oxygen intake and becoming more self-aware.

Health & Well Being Education Project

Having a background in martial arts (I started when I was 16) has helped me as a graphic artist, author, photographer and CAD draftsman to document the vast curriculum available from martial arts, qigong (tai chi & yoga) and many other fitness/wellness methods.

I having been working on a lifelong project of producing books(lets), graphic charts, posters and videos to help educate people about how these ancient methods are truly a self healthcare program. Hopefully more people can realize that we as individuals, are in control of how our health and well being is maintained into our latter years.
