Gain Better Balance by Losing Your Balance – Methods to Improve Balance!
Often times people don’t realize how poor their vestibular balance has become. Vestibular balance is the type of balance that allows you to walk straight, stand up quickly, prevents dizziness and many other things. Why wait to trip or stumble to prepare for what inevitably happens to us as we age? By practicing exercises that make you lose your balance, you can train your mind and body to gain better balance.
Three things that can effect your balance:
1) flexibility and strength of the musculoskeletal system. (think of tight or weak toes, ankles, hips and back)
2) crystallization of the fluid in the vestibule tubes within the inner ear. (try for good daily hydration and movement of the muscles through the neck and spine and legs)
3) awareness of you and your surroundings as to where you stand, how you walk, the type of shoes you wear, where you are looking when you moving, etc.
